CBT-I
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia — the first-line evidence-based treatment for chronic insomnia.
CBT-I is a structured short-course psychological therapy for chronic insomnia, combining sleep-restriction, stimulus-control, cognitive restructuring, and sleep-hygiene components. It has the strongest evidence base of any insomnia intervention and is the recommended first-line treatment by major sleep-medicine guidelines. Cannabinoid therapy for insomnia is considered second-line or adjunctive — after CBT-I has been trialled and has not delivered sustained benefit.
