Full-spectrum vs isolate

Extraction categories: full-spectrum contains the plant’s cannabinoids + terpenes; isolate is purified single-cannabinoid.

Full-spectrum cannabis extracts retain the plant’s full cannabinoid and terpene profile (including trace THC in CBD products). Broad-spectrum removes THC but keeps other components. Isolate is a single purified cannabinoid — typically CBD — at >99% purity. Isolate products have the advantage of predictable dosing and zero-THC content; full-spectrum has the "entourage-effect" hypothesis in its favour but less dosing precision. Clinical prescribing generally favours pharmaceutical-grade isolates or standardised-ratio combination products over artisan full-spectrum oils.
