Oromucosal

Absorption via the lining of the mouth — faster onset than oral, slower than inhaled.

Oromucosal administration — absorption through the lining of the mouth — offers a middle-ground pharmacokinetic profile between oral (slow, variable, first-pass-metabolised) and inhaled (fast, short). Oromucosal sprays containing 1:1 THC:CBD are a well-studied formulation for MS spasticity, with onset over 15–30 minutes and duration of 4–6 hours. The format is preferred where predictability matters and inhaled routes are undesirable.
